Strip Club Security Guard 'Intentionally ' Run Over

A Palm Harbor man is in serious condition after he was run over by a motorist following a dispute inside Silks on U.S. 19.

The Florida Highway Patrol says it all started just before 3 a.m. Friday when a fight broke out inside the 37100 U.S. 19 strip club. Douglas Berube, 42, was working security at the club and tried to secure one of the people involved in the fight.

He was not successful and the person got into a vehicle and “intentionally ran over Berube in the parking lot,” a media release from the patrol said. The driver headed south on U.S. 19.

Berube was airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center where he is listed in serious, but stable condition.
