Sutherland Elementary PTA Hosting Safety Fair for Parents
Representatives from many Pinellas County organizations will be at the fair to talk to parents about keeping their families safe.
It's a big night for parents of students at . Tonight is Sutherland's Back to School Dinner & Safety Fair. Dinner will be served from 6 to 7 p.m.; lasagna is $10, pizza is $7. Dinner includes an entree, salad, cake and beverage. The school year's first general PTA meeting will be held at 6:15 p.m.
There will also be representatives from many organizations onhand to help parents learn ways to keep their families safe. Organizations planning on attending include-
- Palm Harbor Fire Department: They'll bring a fire engine and have a table with information about fire safety
- U.S. Coast Guard: Boating and water safety
- Florin & Roebig: Will help with bike safety and will fit and handout bicycle helmets to those in need
- Ident-a-Kid: Parents can order an identification card for their child
- AAA Travel: Halloween safety information, bike safety and safe ways to go to school
- Pinellas County Safety School Bus: Bus safety
- Florida Highway Patrol: Traffic safety
- Red Cross of Tampa Bay: Hurricane preparedness and literature about CPR & Babysitting classes
