Touching Tribute to Veterans at Palm Harbor Middle School

The Wall of Remembrance was the highlight of the school's annual Veterans Day Observance with the names of more than 800 relatives, staff and the community handwritten by Tony George, Tech Ed teacher.

Hundreds of students, staff, and community members gathered in the courtyard atΒ Palm Harbor Middle SchoolΒ Friday morning to pay tribute to our veterans.

The Wall of Remembrance was the highlight of the school's annual Veterans Day Observance with the names of more than 800 relatives, staff and the community handwritten by Tony George, Tech Ed teacher.

George and his class built the wall in 1986 in dedication to Tony's brother who was killed during WWII.

Ret. Col. Kenneth E. George was the guest speaker; theΒ colors were presented by the University of South Air Force ROTC, and Palm Harbor Middle students performedΒ musical pieces. Β The observance also included a display of a steel beam from the World Trade Center. Students and guests also placed flowers on the school's Wall of Remembrance.
