Witchstock to Feature Three Costume Contests

Grab your Halloween costume and get ready for some spooky fun at this year's Witchstock. This is the 6th year for the free event, which is sponsored by the Witch's Brew, a popular hangout in Old Downtown Palm Harbor. 

"I just love to see all the creativity expressed through the costumes for pets, kids and adults.  It's always so much fun to see everyone dressed up," says Witch's Brew owner, Lesley Klein.

Can't make it to the party? No worries, you can watch it on the web.

"This year, Witchstock will be more intimate, yet "global" since we are live-streaming it, so Aunt Mildred in Ohio can see little Sally in the costume contest," says Klein.

Witchstock will also be held at a slightly different venue. It will be held at the Witch's Brew instead of in the street on Florida Ave. Three bands will perform on a newly-built stage.

"Special thanks goes out to my husband, Rick Klein, who built a new stage for the bands.  It's at the North end of the property and really opens up our space," said Klein.

Entering a costume contest? Here's what you need to know-

• Pet Costume Contest at 3:30 p.m.
• Kids' Costume Contest at 5 p.m.
• Adult Costume Contest (includes category for sexiest costume) at 9 p.m.
• Winners will receive customized Witchstock trophies and prizes.  
• The Adult Costume Contest winners will receive cash prizes of $100 (1st place), $75 (2nd place) & $50 (sexiest costume)
• There is no entry fee. Participants are encouraged to arrive a half hour prior to contest to register. 

On Stage-

• Terry Premru will fingerpick songs from The Wizard of Oz on his acoustic guitar at 4:30 p.m. 
• Higher Tides will play songs from the 60s to get you in the Woodstock mood at 6:00 p.m.  
• The Defendants will rock the house from 7:30 p.m. till 11 p.m. 

The rain date is scheduled for the following day on Sunday, October 28^th with the same hours.

The event will be livestreamed on www.livestream.com/thewitchsbrew and archived on the internet for on demand viewing.  Interested vendors may download an application from the website www.Witchstock.com.
