• School board's 10-acre lot in Parkland to be sold to Broward Health for $14M (miramarflnews.com) — Broward County’s school board has approved selling a 10-acre Parkland parcel at Trails End and University Drive to Broward Health for $14 million, with plans to support Eagles’ Haven. Officials are still deciding whether to return $850,000 Parkland contributed for a never-built school, a question expected back before the board by July 28.
   

• Parkland's Night Out, Meet Your School Resource Officer Event on Monday, August 3 (tapinto.net) — Parkland families can meet their School Resource Officers during the city’s National Night Out celebration on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the P-REC next to Pine Trails Park Amphitheater. Kids can explore police and fire vehicles, enjoy music and food, and learn about programs at the Parkland Recreation and Enrichment Center.
   

• Westglades Speech and Debate Team Shines on National Stage in Virginia Competition (parklandtalk.com) — Westglades Middle School’s Speech and Debate Team, based in Parkland, turned in one of its best-ever showings at the NSDA National Tournament in Virginia, with ten students reaching elimination rounds and Ira Kumar placing sixth nationally. Coach Brooke Pappas credits especially strong performances from seventh graders and a tight-knit team culture that emphasizes growth, support, and future success.
