• Lee Commissioners approve the purchase of four parcels for Conservation 20/20 (pineisland-eagle.com) — Lee County commissioners have approved purchasing three conservation parcels on Pine Island, including land near Stringfellow Road and Monaco Lake Drive next to the Pine Island Flatwoods Preserve. The deals, totaling millions in Conservation 20/20 funds, expand protected land around St. James City and add an infill parcel to the Orange River Preserve, with two more properties advanced for future acquisition.
