Beryl Brings Wet Weather to Tampa Bay

Better grab an umbrella, too, when you head out for a Memorial Day picnic or party on the beach.

Subtropical Beryl may crash some weekend gatherings, bringing showers, gusting winds and thunderstorms.

Boaters are advised to seek safe shelter, and beach goers may want to head to the closest (indoor) tiki bar.

As Beryl barrels toward Jacksonville, there is a 40 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms today and 50 percent Monday.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a partly sunny day today and Memorial Day, wth temperatures in the mid-80s.

Boaters need to be wary of rough seas today and gusting winds. The rain will bring relief to parched areas where there have been wildfires scorching land and bringing smoke to cities across Tampa Bay.

Rain and thunderstorms will continue through Tuesday.
