Boil Water Notice Issued for St. Pete Beach, Tierra Verde

The notice will remain in effect for at least.

ST. PETE BEACH, FL – Pinellas County Utilities is asking more than 6,000 customers in the St. Pete Beach and Tierra Verde area to boil their drinking water for the next 48 hours at least.

Low water pressure in the area is behind the request, the agency wrote in an email to media.

“All necessary steps are being taken to restore the safety of the drinking water,” the email said. “Microbes, if present in the water, can cause diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches or other symptoms. They may pose a special health risk for infants, young children, some of the elderly and people with severely compromised immune systems. If you have specific health concerns, please consult your doctor.”
