Chicken Creations Fit for the Beach

For a desirable dinner, check out the view and the menu at the Hurricane Restaurant. The Fresh Chicken Breast Dinner plate sells for $10 and is one of the more health conscious items on our Matter of Taste list this week. With 8 oz. of boneless chicken breast and a side of choice (fries, cole slaw, rice, fruit, veggies or mashed potatoes, edamame salad or asparagus), you will definitely get your fill with this choice. The Hurricane will prepare it any way you like: blackened, grilled or fried.

 

If you're in the mood for a panini, wrap or salad, look no further than Steam. There's an entire portion of the menu that can be prepared as one of the three options. To stick with our chicken mindset, we suggest the Get Yo Mojo Jerk Chicken ($6.95). The plate is prepared with a fresh chicken breast tossed in a sweet and spicy, citrus jerk seasoning accented by lime, cilantro and mango. 

 

For a one of a kind dining experience, enjoy some chicken in the sand at Caddy's on the Beach. Tables are nestled right on the shore of the Pinellas Beaches. Indulge in a Chicken Breast Sandwich (or wrap) for $8.35. The breast can be prepared one of the following ways: grilled, blackened, buffalo, jerk or tater fried. Choose a side to accompany the plate as well (fries, baked beans, cole slaw, veggies or potato salad).

 

If you need some live music with your lunch or dinner, check out Ricky T's. A lengthy menu offers everything from appetizers and soup to seafood entrees and pizza. The Crispy Chicken and Spinach Salad is a local favorite. For $9.99, enjoy a bed of fresh spinach topped with crispy chicken strips, apple slices, bleu cheese crumbles and smoked bacon. The dish is served with a stone ground, mustard vinaigrette dressing. 

 

Enjoy some beachside shopping and atmosphere on top of some delicious food at the Friendly Fisherman restaurant. Located along the infamous John's Pass Boardwalk, the establishment boasts a view, good service and fresh food. Try the Double Breast of Chicken dinner for $13.95. The plate can be prepared one of five ways: char-grilled, blackened, cajun, fried or broiled. The dish comes with two corn fritters on the side and one side (cole slaw, fries, sweet or baked potato, or apple sauce).
