Legislation Could Cut Server Wages: Lawmakers approved a bill that may cut the wages for servers across Florida, according to an article from Tampabay.com. Senate Bill 2106 would give restaurant owners an option to pay their servers a $2.13 hourly wage instead of the current $4.65.
Fort De Soto Pier to be Replaced: Pinellas County has been award $1 million in grant funding for the replacement of the Bay Pier at Fort De Soto Park, a Pinellas County news release said. The funding, provided by the Federal Transit Administration’s Paul S. Sarbanes Transit in Parks program, is for alternative transportation in national parks, forests and wildlife refuges.
Half-Marathon Rocks St. Pete: Preparations for the debut event have been in the works for more than a year. The Rock n Roll Half-Marathon made its way to the streets of downtown St. Petersburg on Sunday. The race started promptly at 7:30 a.m. near the Trop. From there, participants ran a 13.1 mile loop throughout the downtown area. From Central Ave and North Shore Park to the Dali Museum andUSF, runners experienced a true taste of the history that St. Pete has to offer.

Madeira Beach Reinstating Community Police: Madeira Beach will again have a police officer who will deal with Madeira Beach, and only Madeira Beach. On February 8, the Madeira Beach City Commission voted unanimously to reinstate a community police officer, according to Tampabay.com.
