Hazardous Weather Alert Issued

Headed to the beach? Think again. Tropical Storm Beryl leaves behind a trail of stormy weather, after skirting Jacksonville and St. Augustine.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for southwest Florida, including for St. Pete Beach and other coastal cities in Tampa Bay.

Heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, gusting winds and a chance of flooding are in the forecast for Tuesday. Frequent lightning strikes are to be expected. The turbulent weather is the result of tropical storm Beryl, which made landfall in Jacksonville Sunday but did not have a direct impact on the Pinellas Beaches.

Stormy weather is predicted through Friday.
