Investigation of John's Pass Bridge Underway
After two have fallen from the bridge, barricades are in place and the Florida Department of Transportation is investigating the safety of the bridge.

Florida Department of Transportation engineers are investigating whether the bridge over John's Pass will need to be modified to be safer, according to an article by Tampabay.com.
The bridge recently came into the spotlight when Joseph Schlag, 31, fell headfirst through the median and landed on the concrete below. He is currently at Bayfront Hospital for a fractured skull and is in critical condition.
Aaron Motta, 17, also fell through the median of the bridge while fishing. He sustained minor injuries and was able to swim to shore.

The median doesn't extend across the whole bridge and there is a 100-foot long and 3 foot gap at the peak of the bridge.
Barricades are currently up while the Department of Transportation investigates.
