Pinellas Commission To Consider Repealing Coronavirus Mandates May 11

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — The Pinellas County Commission will consider repealing or amending its mandatory face mask ordinance during its May 11 hybrid in-person and virtual meeting.
Residents have multiple options for offering public comment.
Pinellas County has extended its state of local emergency for COVID-19 through April 30. The extension was issued Wednesday by County Administrator Barry A. Burton by delegated authority from the commission.

The declaration retains the county’s eligibility for FEMA reimbursements for COVID-related expenses. It also keeps in effect a county ordinance requiring face coverings within public places, and restaurants and bars to serve only patrons who are seated.
County and public health officials continue to closely monitor the seven-day rolling averages for new COVID-19 cases, percentage of positive tests, hospitalizations and hospital bed availability.
