Pinellas Park Motorcyclist Loses Legs But Trooper Saves His Life

A 31-year-old man lost both legs Wednesday night following a motorcycle accident on Park Boulevard.

PINELLAS PARK, FL -- A Florida Highway Patrol trooper was able to save the life of a motorcyclist following an accident Wednesday night but the 31-year-old St. Petersburg man is in critical condition after losing both of his legs.

On Jan. 16, Brandon Niles was ejected from his motorcycle after hitting the back of a Misubishi Galant that cut him off on Park Boulevard, according to Pinellas Park Police.

A trooper who witnessed the crash used tourniquets on Niles' legs to staunch the blood flow while they waited for paramedics, saving his life.
