Local fans of Selena Gomez should get ready to keep an eye out for the teen pop star in St. Pete Beach.

Gomez boarded a plane to Florida Monday night and will be arriving in the St. Pete Beach area to film "Spring Breakers," according to Hollywoodlife.com.

When Gomez boarded her flight in Los Angeles, she tweeted her followers that she was "Off to filming….”

Gomez, whose songs include "I Want to Love You Like a Love Song," is currently dating teen singing sensation and heart throb Justin Bieber. Bieiber has been known to follow her to locations and may visit her on the beach, according to reports.

The new film Gomez is making revolves around a drug dealer played by James Franco who bails "spring breakers," i.e., college students in bikinis and surfer shorts. He demands that they kill his adversary.

Gomez will be co-starring with Franco as well as Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson. Gomez has a successful singing career, but she first became known as a performing artist when she starred in Disney Channel's "Waverly Place."
