Six Locals in Paddleboard World Championship

Six people from around the Pinellas will be attending the Paddleboard World Championship in Hawaii on July 29th.

Six paddleboarders in Pinellas will be competing in the Paddleboard World Championship in Hawaii on July 29th, according to an article from TBNweekly.com.

Patrick Klemawesch, 36, of Treasure Island, Eric Shamas, 33, of St. Pete Beach, Christian Cook, 45, of St. Petersburg, Dana Hart, 44, of St. Petersburg, Chad White, 46, of Seminole and Marc Shen, 41, of St Petersburg will be heading out to Hawaii to compete against people from around the world at the end of the month.

Klemawesch and Shamas will be competing in the solo competition. This marks Klemawesch's third time heading out to the event.

Cook, Hart, White and Shen will all be part of the team competition.

The competition in Hawaii has them crossing from Molokai to Oahu usin g the Ka’iwi Channel. The crossing is over 32 miles of open ocean.

The fastest times for the race are put at about five hours from start to completion.
