Soul Surfer Youth Minister comes to Beach

Strive for Greatness is a non-denominational Christian group set up to inspire men and women through faith. 

For their Women of Purpose convention at the Sandpiper in St. Pete Beach, they chose a guest speaker who was able to help others through her faith.

Sarah Rachel Hill is a youth ministry leader in Kauai and played an important role in helping Bethany Hamilton live through faith after a shark attack took Hamilton's arm.

Hamilton's story was the subject of the major motion picture, Soul Surfer, starring Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid. Hill was portrayed by Carrie Underwood in the film.

Hill has gone through own trials in life. She received a broken back and neck from a surfing accident, which only helped to strengthen her faith.

The theme for this year's Strive for Greatness event is From Bondage to Freedom: How to live a life of Peace, Purpose & Passion and seeks to highlight the purpose in life for women.

The event will be at the Sandpiper Febuary 3 and 4 and tickets are $89.
