St. Pete Man Accused Of Hit-And-Run Involving Bicyclist

The Pinellas Park Police have arrested a 50-year-old St. Petersburg man in connection with a hit-and-run crash involving a bicyclist.

PINELLAS PARK, FL —The Pinellas Park Police have arrested a 50-year-old St. Petersburg man in connection with a hit-and-run crash involving a bicyclist.

Shortly before 9 p.m. Friday, John Turley, 60, was attempting to cross in the 7600 block of U.S. 19 near 78th Avenue on his bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Timothy Manzi, 50, who left the scene, said police.

According to police, witnesses followed Manzi and reported his whereabouts to police who were able to locate him and take him into custody.

Turley was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition. Manzi and his two passengers were not injured.

Manzi was charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury and driving on a suspended license.
