Thoughts on Fort De Soto Parking Fee
Have you visited Fort De Soto since the implementation of a parking fee.

Fort De Soto is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and it used to be free other than the freeway tolls.
As of last week, that's changed. .
Here at Patch, we want to know what you think of the changes. When we first announced the news, we got a lot of comments from people who didn't like the changes.

Some Patch readers thought the rate was okay, but wished that there were other options for Pinellas residents.
Jennifer wrote "Honestly, the $5 seems in line with other state parks around here, and it might keep the party crowds down somewhat during the summer."
CJ commented "It's too bad they don't have an annual pass you can buy for ''residents'' that also includes parking in all the various other fee lots such as the St Pete's Beach lot, Treasue Island lot, Clearwater Beach lot, etc."
We at Patch want to know if you've gone to Fort De Soto since the parking fee took effect. If so, did you notice that the park was less crowded? Will you continue to visit Fort De Soto?
Let us know in the comments what you think and how it's effecting you.
