Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary has a vital mission. The nonprofit rehabilitates injured and sick seabirds. It is helped greatly by a committed flock of volunteers. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Department rounded up ten individuals in connection to dealing drugs on the streets of Madeira Beach, according a report from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. The arrests occurred yesterday evening and were a part of Operation Riptide, a collaboration of Madeira Beach citizens and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office to get ride of drug dealers on the beach.
By 2015, most of the Ulmerton Road Corridorwill be a six-lane roadway between Indian Rocks Bridge and I-275, according to the Florida Department of Transportation. The current construction projects cover about six miles of the roughly 12 miles of the Ulmerton Road Corridor. The roadway, through Largo and parts of Clearwater, connects the beaches with the interstate highway. In addition to widening the road, the state DOT is closing some driveways and medians to make the road safer, said Marian Scorza, Public Information Officer for the FDOT.
