Tornado Watch Across the Beaches
The Pinellas beaches are under a tornado watch, according to the National Weather Service, as a band of thunderstorms moves across Tampa Bay.

A tornado watch is in effect across Tampa Bay, including in Pinellas County.
The watch is in effect until 7 a.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. It extends into Hillsborough, Manatee and Sarasota counties.
The watch was issued at 11:10 p.m. Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms also are in the forecast overnight.

According to TBO.com, the rare storm system for this time of year includes bands of rain and lightning strikes.
According to weather.com, the weather advisory includes a line of thunder storms moving east at 10 mph, with gusting winds. They extend from Brooksville to Redington Shores, 50 miles southwest of Bradenton Beach.
