Selling flowers must be a sweet-smelling job. It's sort of the opposite of, say, handing out traffic tickets. The public nearly always leave feeling pleased.
Having a favorite flower seller makes life easier -- someone who can be counted on to have the freshest roses, the coolest tropical plants and the niftiest arrangements.
