Plant City Police Seek Duo Committing String Of Burglaries

Two people in Plant City are wanted for going shoe shopping at a Famous Footwear store in the middle of the night.

PLANT CITY, FL – Two people in Plant City are wanted for going shoe shopping at a Famous Footwear store in the middle of the night.

Plant City Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a duo who broke into the shoe store at 213 Alexander St. W. in Plant City and triggered the alarm on July 1 at 12:41 a.m.

Police said the burglars road up on bicycles, smashed the front window of the store to gain access and then went on a shopping spree, stealing shoes and socks with an estimated value of several hundred dollars.

Detectives believe the burglars could be the same people responsible for a recent string of burglaries at cell phone stores in the Plant City area. (See related story.)

Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the burglars. Anyone with information who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), report anonymously online or send a mobile tip using the P3 Tips Mobile application.
