• South Florida nursing-school scandal heads to its end with trial of former owner (sun-sentinel.com) — A 52-year-old woman from Plantation is standing trial in Fort Lauderdale federal court, accused of involvement in a South Florida nursing-school diploma scheme. Prosecutors say she helped operate schools that sold fraudulent nursing degrees, part of a broader scandal first exposed in 2023. Her decision to go before a jury sets up a potentially lengthy prison risk.
