• Pedestrian Killed in Pompano Truck Stop Incident (tapinto.net) — A Pompano Beach resident died after being pinned between two semitrucks at the Mobil truck stop on NW 31st Avenue, just off the Turnpike interchange. Broward Sheriff’s traffic homicide detectives say one truck was pulling out and sideswiped another while the victim stood on its step, and the ongoing investigation currently rules out speed and impairment as factors. 
• Miami nurse caught swiping drugs at a rehab facility. There were consequences (miamiherald.com) — A nurse working at a Pompano Beach rehab facility was disciplined by Florida’s Board of Nursing after coworkers reported he took prescription pain medication vials from a colleague’s desk and hid them in his backpack. His license is now suspended until he completes a psychological evaluation and proves he can safely practice, and he must also repay thousands in investigative costs over several years.
