1. 911 callers describe severe crash that killed man at Pompano Beach bus stop (sun-sentinel.com) — A deadly multi-vehicle crash on South Federal Highway in Pompano Beach killed a man waiting at a covered Broward County bus stop and sent the BMW driver to Broward Health North. Witnesses told 911 operators they saw a car flip into a dealership lot, debris flying, and someone lying on the ground. Traffic Homicide detectives are still investigating the chain of collisions and damage to multiple parked cars. 
2. Pompano City Manager Faces Performance, Salary Review Meeting Next Week (tapinto.net) — Pompano Beach’s city manager Greg Harrison will face a public performance and salary review at the City Commission’s July 28 meeting, following last year’s tense, deadlocked evaluation. Commissioners will weigh his record on finances, capital projects, redevelopment, and public services as they decide whether to grant a raise that could push his annual pay above $400,000.
3. Pompano Beach Reaches 600 Sea Turtle Nests as Hatching Season Begins (tapinto.net) — Pompano Beach’s shoreline has already reached about 600 sea turtle nests this season, and hatchlings are now emerging in greater numbers along the city’s three miles of beach. Residents are urged to give nesting turtles space, avoid handling hatchlings, respect lighting rules, and use the county hotline so more young turtles safely reach the ocean.

Mick's Morning News- Friday (iheart.com) — Broward deputies are investigating a disturbing encounter at Sample Road and Federal Highway in Pompano Beach, where a driver allegedly made explicit comments and offered money for a couple’s 6-year-old daughter at a red light. The family recorded the exchange, later turning the video over to investigators. No arrest has been announced yet, but the parents say they were horrified by the man’s questions.
5. SoFlo A, B Relays, Eva Ortiz Shine; SoFlo Leads Combined, Men's Teams On Day One Of FGC Senior LCM Championships (wordpress.com) — A major four-day swim championship is underway at the Pompano Beach Aquatic Center, with the hometown Pompano Beach Piranhas sitting near the top of the team standings. South Florida Aquatic Club leads overall after strong relay performances, while 15-year-old Eva Ortiz posted a big personal best in the 1500-meter freestyle. More races continue through the weekend with 37 teams competing.
