• Coast Guard rescues eight from capsizing vessel (captivasanibel.com) — A Coast Guard crew rescued eight people, including two young children, after their 38-foot boat began taking on water in the Punta Rassa Channel near the Sanibel Causeway on July 3. Responders from multiple agencies safely moved everyone to the Punta Rassa Boat Ramp without injuries, though the vessel later capsized and is now being recovered by commercial salvage.
