Countryside High School Dress Code Meeting Tonight

Countryside High School Parents - DRESS CODE MEETING - TONIGHT Wed. April 3 at 7 p.m.

Community Meeting about the Modified Dress Code in the CHS Auditorium.

Proposed Modified Uniform Dress Code for 2013-2014. Parents will be voting on the proposed modified uniform dress code through a ConnectEd message.

Each household will get 1 vote. For example, if you have 2 students attending Countryside High School, you will still just get 1 vote.

Tops:

 Solid colored, collared polo style shirt. If there is an emblem, it must be smaller than a 3x5 index card.

 Solid colored, crew neck t- shirt. If there is an emblem, it must be smaller than a 3x5 index card.

 Official Countryside apparel such as CHS t-shirts for sponsored clubs and teams Bottoms:

 Denim Jeans (no "jeggings,")

 Khaki pants, knee-length shorts, or knee-length skirts

 Solid colored dress pants, shorts or skirts **Shorts and skirts must come to the knee or longer. No exceptions. **No stretchy material of any kind. No sweat pants or yoga pants. **No holes, rips, or tears. **No athletic shorts.

Outerwear:

 Hoodless jackets or sweaters
 Must be worn over an appropriate shirt

 No hats, caps, or bandanas. Shoes:

 Follow Pinellas County School’s shoe requirement (The Code of Conduct says "Safe and appropriate footwear must be worn. Inappropriate footwear includes, but is not limited to, roller skates, skate shoes, and bedroom slippers.") Dresses:

 No dresses Other Guidelines:

 Form fitting leotard/spandex type clothing is not allowed

 No see through or mesh fabric

 Clothing must be the appropriate size, with the waist of the garment worn at the student’s waist. No midriffs or cleavage should be showing.  Clothing not properly buttoned, zipped, or fastened shall not be worn.  Clothing with rips, holes, or tears shall not be worn

 Sunglasses may not be worn inside unless a parent provides a doctor’s note to the school

 Bandanas or sweatbands are not allowed to be visible on school grounds during the regular school hours

 Hats or other head coverings may be worn during outside P.E. activities and may not be worn during any portion of the regular school day without the expressed permission of the principal

 No v-neck t-shirts Friday Privileges:

 A more relaxed dress code on Friday’s. Students can wear shirts with prints and patterns, but must follow all other guidelines.

 Privileges can be taken away if they are abused.
