Buddhist Meditation for modern people.&nbsp;&nbsp;Escape the stress and busyness of daily life to discover the peace of meditation for yourself in these one hour meditation sessions. Be guided through simple, profound meditations that relax the mind and body and improve our wisdom and compassion, leading to a deep experience of inner peace and contentment.

The class includes two guided meditations, a short chanted prayer, an explanation of the topic of that day, meditation instruction, and how to practically apply our meditation to our daily life. Everyone is welcome.

These drop-in classes are designed to help children develop a peaceful, positive state of mind by listening to and applying Buddha’s simple compassionate teachings and meditations. Each week there is a short meditation, a brief interactive lesson, chanted prayers, and a creative activity. We emphasize kindness to others and the cultivation of a happy heart. 
Parents and/or guardians are welcome to attend class with their child or attend our adult Sunday Meditations for World Peace Class that takes place at the same time.
The class is most appropriate for children ages 4-15.

If we want to develop the supreme good heart of bodhichitta, we need to understand the essence of this mind. Thus, it’s helpful to become familiar with the methods Buddha taught to develop this mind. 
In this series, we will look at the sevenfold cause and effect instructions which originated with Buddha Shakyamuni and subsequently passed through Maitreya and Asanga in an unbroken lineage to present day accomplished teachers of Mahayana Buddhism. The sevenfold cause and effect is a method involving the successive development of seven realizations that are a chain of cause and effect leading to the final realization of bodhichitta. 
Each class is self-contained and is suitable for both beginners and more experienced practitioners. Everyone is welcome!

Why Me? Understanding the Truth of Karma Meditation Retreat. Saturday, June 20.&nbsp; &nbsp;Teachings &amp; Guided Meditations with Resident Teacher, Sarah Frew.&nbsp; &nbsp;Cost: $30. Vegetarian lunch included.Does it seem like others tend to catch all the breaks while things rarely go our way? We all just want to be happy and free from problems, but we misidentify their actual causes. Buddha taught that all our actions of body, speech, and mind are causes and all our experiences are their effects. The law of karma explains why we have unique experiences, physical appearances and mental dispositions due to the countless actions we have performed in the past. By applying the wisdom of karma to our daily life, we can discover our own happiness and stop the cycle of pain and dissatisfaction.&nbsp;

Everyone is welcome to attend this course. No meditation experience is necessary.
