Safety Harbor Councilman Richard Blake is Getting in Shape!

Safety Harbor City Councilman Richard Blake is getting in shape with Move Forward Fitness! Learn about his results so far!

As you may or may not know, Move Forward Fitness has been training City Councilman Rick Blake for about 2 months ago. As part of the fundraiser for St. Baldrick’s foundation, organized by the Chop Shop, we raffled off 3 months of Personal Training and Rick was the lucky winner.

Rick started with goals similar to the majority of my clients. He wanted to lose belly fat and increase his muscle definition. I have been taking him through my 13 week fat loss program. So far, he is doing pretty well. We have had a couple of obstacles that have come up over the course of the last 8 weeks.

Our main obstacle has been that, like all of us, he is human. Nobody ever makes perfect choices all of the time. As a result, he hasn’t been doing quite as much cardiovascular exercise as I would have liked. Thankfully, he is working hard in the studio and making pretty good food choices. His effort during our sessions and his overall good food choices have paid off.

As of this point, Rick has lost 2 inches off of his hips and waist, while adding a little over 2 inches to his thighs. We all know that men carry a lot of fat in our midsections and relatively little on our legs. Since Rick’s waistline is dropping and his thighs are a little larger, he is obviously losing fat and gaining muscle.

Considering that Rick has had a couple of trips that took him out of town, over the last month or so, he is doing great. Keeping up with exercise and nutrition, while you’re out of town, is challenging for everybody. Now we are just about to start our fat burning phase, and we’ll see just how well he can do down the stretch!

We have a little more than a month left to go, so if you see Rick around town be sure to offer him a couple of words of encouragement. Also, if you see him out at a restaurant, make sure he’s ordering grilled fish or chicken NOT fried!
