Sunglasses...can make you look like a movie star or a rockstar...OR...maybe they just make you feel COOL!!!
It's June 27th. It's National Sunglasses Day, and they deserve their own holiday because they protect pupils from harmful UV rays, as well as, help to avoid cataracts. Sunglasses are def the most important fashion accessory of summer, so why not put on your rose-colored glasses and read a few interesting facts about our topic for today...sunglasses!!!!!!
- In the US alone, every 14 seconds someone breaks their sunglasses by sitting on them...OR...looses them.
- Inexpensive mass-produced sunglasses were introduced to America by Sam Foster in 1929. Foster found a ready market on the beaches of Atlantic City, New Jersey, where he began selling sunglasses under the name Foster Grant.
- Elton John is reported to have a collection of 1000 pair.
- Aviator sunglasses or "pilot's glasses" were originally developed in 1936 by Bausch & Lomb, and branded "Ray-Ban" to protect their eyes while flying.
Soooo kids, keep your eyes cool...wear sunglasses!!!!!!!!!
