Tampa Bay Towns Battle for $100,000 Dog Park Grant

Residents can vote daily to help their town win funding to build a park courtesy of PetSafe.

PetSafe wants to give animal lovers across the country something to bark about.

The company is hoping $100,000 earmarked for one lucky town to build its own dog park will do the trick. Each year the company, which was founded in 1991, plays host to the contest to provide pets with wide open spaces to run. PetSafe manufacturers electronic pet training products.

This year’s Bark for Your Park contest just got under way with dozens of communities across the country now battling it out to see which ones can garner enough online votes to move forward to the finalist round, which begins June 17. One lucky finalist will earn the top prize with four other towns each winning $25,000 for being runners up.

Contest Overview

To become a finalist for the Bark for Your Park contest, the PetSafe brand encourages communities of pet professionals, owners, shelters, welfare groups and local civic officials to partner together to help their community win $100,000 to build a PetSafe dog park. The runner-up city in each small, medium and large population category will also win $25,000. The Bark from Your Heart community winner will be the finalist with the highest percentage of votes to the city’s population and will also win $25,000. A community may only win one of the five prizes.

Contest Dates

This contest will end at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on July 22, or upon announcement and qualification of the prize winners, whichever is later. Entries must be submitted by 11:59:59 p.m. ET on June 10.
