There’s Something for Everyone @ your Library

Sources differ on the actual dates of Dog Days of Summer, but in Florida, we can agree these days last long.  Often dog days are defined as the hottest, sultriest days of summer between July and early September marking a humid, stagnant period.  The name dog days comes from the ancient Roman belief that Sirius, the Dog Star, is in close proximity to the sun and responsible for the unbearable, hot weather. 

While it may be hot outside, it never is inside the Library and we always have new programs and materials for you to enjoy.  So stop by, cool off,  take a look at our art exhibits, read the paper, look for a good book or movie, or ask us about free e-books, downloadable music and films.  We have fun events for all ages.  Relax and learn with us.  If you’d like us to do something different let us know, we are open to your suggestions. Learn the Craft of Needle Felting:  Tuesday, August 13, 2:00 pm.  Learn how easy it is to turn wool into a variety of items such as purses, shoes, toys and more.  Class focus will be the creation of a ladybug.  Ages 15+.  Registration required.  Call 727-724-1525, ext 4112.

Making the Most of Your Closet Fashion Series - Closet Organization:  Thursday, August 15, 6:30 pm.  In this workshop, wardrobe and fashion stylist, Kara Beck explains how keep your closet organized so finding a perfect outfit is a snap.

Story Circle Network Writer's Group:  Wednesday, August 21, 6:00 pm.   Join fellow writers for writing assistance, sharing, ideas, and guidance.  (This group meets monthly on the third Wednesday.)

Safety Harbor Writers and Poets Library Group:  Thursday, August 22 from 6:00-7:00 pm.  This monthly gathering of writers is meant to be a platform for those in search of joining a writers' group and connecting to others with similar writing goals.  Bring your writing to share.  (This group meets monthly on the fourth Thursday.)
