The Sanibel School Fund receives grant (captivasanibel.com) — Students at The Sanibel School will soon get a new 3D printer, thanks to a $2,500 grant from the CAPTRUST Community Foundation to the Sanibel School Fund. The equipment will boost STEAM learning with hands-on design and problem-solving projects. School leaders say it will expand project-based learning and future-ready skills for island kids.

Sanibel Island man says Hurricane Ian debris still sits on streets 4 years later (winknews.com) — On Sanibel Island, a longtime resident says large piles of tree stumps left from Hurricanes Ian and Charley are still sitting along neighborhood streets, creating both an eyesore and a safety concern. City officials told WINK News they cannot remove the debris because it sits on private property, leaving cleanup to individual owners even four years after Ian.

Her message now is that Sanibel is open, stronger, and ready to welcome people back.

Sanibel woman huddled in bathroom with her dog as Hurricane Ian flooded her home (winknews.com) — A Sanibel woman recounts riding out Hurricane Ian in her island condo, watching storm surge climb to the second floor as she sheltered in a bathroom with her dog. She describes fear, survivor's guilt, and the shock of seeing the damage afterward. Despite the trauma, she says neighbors quickly rallied, helping each other rebuild stronger and smarter.
