Coyotes thwarting sea turtle nest decoy effort on Sanibel and Captiva islands (wusf.org) — Coyotes are raiding up to 42% of sea turtle nests on Sanibel and Captiva beaches, despite an intensive decoy experiment on Bowman's Beach. Researchers and the City of Sanibel are now testing every state-approved method and funding a costly coyote study, while residents are urged to report sightings through the city's online portal.

Trash-to-fashion conservation show to return (captivasanibel.com) — A conservation-themed fashion show is coming back to Sundial Beach Resort & Spa on Sanibel this Nov. 4, turning recycled materials into runway couture. Hosted by the 'Ding' Darling Wildlife Society, the REVIVE! Trash-To-Fashion event will fund refuge habitat restoration and education, then spin off into free exhibitions on Sanibel and at Fort Myers' Tribby Arts Center.
