1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized After Lakewood Ranch Shooting: Sarasota County Sheriff
One person was killed and another injured in a domestic shooting at a Lakewood Ranch apartment, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said.
LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL — One person died and another was injured in a Sunday morning domestic shooting at a Lakewood Ranch apartment complex, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Deputies went to a unit at the complex for a welfare check around 10:30 a.m.
When they arrived, they found one person dead inside the apartment and another with a gunshot wound, the sheriff’s office said.

The injured person was brought to a local hospital.
Investigators believe the shooting was a domestic incident and there is no threat to the public.
