Sarasota County Man Claims $1M Florida Lottery Prize Playing Scratch-Off Game

A Venice man claimed a $1 million top prize from the $5 Gold Rush Supreme scratch-off game, the Florida Lottery said.

VENICE, FL — A Sarasota County man claimed a $1 million top prize playing the $5 Gold Rush Supreme scratch-off game, Florida Lottery said in a news release.

Yorky Leon, 37, of Venice chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump sum payment of $880,000 from Florida Lottery’s Fort Myers district office.

He purchased his winning ticket from the Wawa at 2970 Executive Drive in Venice. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The $5 Gold Rush Supreme scratch-off game launched in January and features more than $199 million in cash prizes, including 24 top prizes of $1 million. The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-3.97.
