2 Injured in Sarasota Crash
The accident happened on Mission Valley Boulevard Sunday afternoon.

A 34-year-old Sarasota man faces careless driving charges after a Sunday afternoon rear-end crash on Mission Valley Boulevard.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Drew Trainer was heading northbound on Mission Valley Boulevard, approaching Pacer Street, just before 3:30 p.m. When the vehicle in front of Trainer’s Ford F150 slowed to turn right onto Pacer Street, Trainer failed to slow in time, a highway patrol report said.
Trainer’s truck hit the rear of a Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Robert James Jennings, 74, of Sarasota, the report stated. The Santa Fe ultimately overturned after the collision.

Jennings was Bayflighted to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. His passenger Mary Sarle, 68, of Sarasota was taken to Venice Regional Medical Center. Troopers say Jennings suffered serious injuries in the crash, but described Sarle’s injuries as minor.
Trainer, the report said, was not injured, but he was cited for careless driving.
