It's not often that a Florida pup gets to play in the snow. Sarasota's Xena enjoyed experiencing the white stuff during a recent visit to Lewisberry, Pennsylvania.

A bit south of Sarasota, Baloo is a medical foster dog being cared for in Fort Myers.

He was rescued from Miami-Dade County earlier this month by Big Hearts for Big Dogs Rescue after being found with severe head trauma, lacerations, and fractures to his jaw, face, and skull.

His foster mom, Betty-Jean Park, said the vet thinks someone used an axe or machete-like instrument to attack poor Baloo.

Luckily, he's recovering well under the Christmas tree this holiday season and his foster mom said he's "the sweetest lap dog." Once he's fully recovered, he'll be available for adoption.
