“What an incredible first day… thank you all so much for your support, your smiles, and your patience today,” the company wrote in a social media post. “We are so grateful to welcome you into our new space and share this journey with you.”

The new location, which offers the brand more space for dinner and wine events, serves coffee and pastries, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and also has a full bar.

Mademoiselle Paris’ previous downtown location was down the road a bit at 1605 Main Street in the Wells Fargo building.

This location will stay open for the time being, focusing on coffee and pastries, though it will eventually close, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported.

Even when they moved into their original downtown location in 2021, owners Myriam and Jean Dandonneau acknowledged to Patch that the space was smaller than what they were used to and that they hoped to have a larger location one day.

The company also operates three other restaurants at: 9906 Gulf Drive, Anna Maria; 8527 Cooper Creek Blvd. in Sarasota’s University Park area; and 2937 Beach Blvd. S., Gulfport.

The owners, who are natives of France, sold everything they owned and moved to Florida in September 2016 to open the first Mademoiselle Paris restaurant in University Park, the couple previously told Patch.

Though their background is in engineering and computer science, Jean grew up in the restaurant and food business thanks to his family.

“So, we love food and have a passion for food and wine. It was a good way to mix our passion and to be able to live,” he said. “(Opening Mademoiselle Paris) was a dream come true and is still a dream come true.”
