Sarasota County Election Results: 3 Candidates Lead School Board Races

In Sarasota County school board races, Jimmy Glover has taken an early lead with 40 of 98 precincts reporting their tallies to the Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections office.

Glover has earned nearly 35,600 votes (47.2 percent of the vote) as of 7:25 p.m., unofficial results show.

His opponents Heidi Brandt and Teresa DeWitt have received more than 23,300 (30.98 percent) and nearly 16,500 (21.82 percent) votes, respectively.

In District 4, Megan Tennimon received more than 44,200 votes (59.13 percent) compared to her opponent, Frank DiCicco, who earned 30,570 votes (40.87 percent), according to the unofficial results.

Beth Mayberry is leading in District 5 with nearly 45,400 votes (60.79 percent), while her opponent trails with nearly 29,300 votes (39.21 percent), the unofficial results show.

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — Voters in Sarasota and across Sarasota County are awaiting the results in the 2026 primary elections after local polls closed at 7 p.m. ET.

Patch will publish the live results as they are reported by the Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections office. Check back to this story for up-to-date results.

Though the polls closed at 7 p.m., those already in line at the time will be allowed to vote. Those who arrive at their polling place after 7 p.m. will be turned away.

Sarasota County voters had a say in a number of races, including Democratic and Republican nominees for governor, U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, and state legislative races in Tuesday's primary election.

They also made decisions in local contests, including county commission and school board races.

While some races might be decided Tuesday, many candidates will move on to the Nov. 3 general election.
