SARASOTA, FL — An upscale restaurant chain based in Nashville is moving into the greater Tampa Bay area with a new location opening at Sarasota's University Town Center, multiple reports said.
The new BrickTop's restaurant is expected to open at 55 N. Cattlemen Road in the spring, according to the chain's website.
However, the 7,500-square-foot American bistro is more likely to open in mid-to-late summer 2027, BrickTop's project manager Leigh Anne Balsman told the Business Observer.
The company currently operates 11 restaurants in Alabama, Florida, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, BrickTop's restaurant said. Three are located in Nashville.
Florida locations include Naples, Miramar Beach, Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens. A Delray Beach restaurant is expected to open this fall.
Established 20 years ago, in 2006, by Joe Ledbetter, BrickTop's was named for Ada "Bricktop" Smith, a legendary American-born singer, dancer and jazz club owner in Paris in the 1920s, according to Garden & Gun.
