SARASOTA, FL — An Oregon man was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to coercing a minor into sexual activity and producing child sexual abuse material, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a news release.
Aleksandr Golovchenko, 50, of Oregon, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge John L. Badalamenti to 25 years in prison, followed by lifetime supervised release.
Golovchenko pleaded guilty on April 29 to three counts of producing child sexual abuse material and two counts of coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity.
He met his victim, a 12-year-old girl, online in February 2025.
Between February and April 2025, he used Snapchat to persuade and coerce the girl into sexual activity and sexually explicit conduct that he recorded, federal prosecutors said.
The case was investigated by the FBI and Sarasota Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Courtney Derry.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative focused on investigating and prosecuting the sexual exploitation of children.
