SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — A 42-year-old Plantation man was killed Sunday afternoon after his Tesla overturned on Interstate 75 in Sarasota County, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
The crash happened just before 5 p.m. on southbound I-75 near mile marker 195, north of Jacaranda Boulevard.
The 2026 Tesla Model Y was traveling south when it left the road and entered the grassy median before overturning, FHP said.
The driver was ejected from the SUV and pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
