Saturday Event Focuses On Wetlands, Conservation Of Bobby Jones Golf Club Property
Local neighborhood groups, conservation organizations host Bobby Jones day at the Bobby Jones Golf Club and Nature Trails Saturday.

SARASOTA, FL — Visit Bobby Jones Golf Club and Nature Trails at 1000 Circus Blvd. in Sarasota Saturday to learn about the extensive wetlands, birds, watershed, habitat, the possibility of a conservation easement, its connection to the Legacy Trail and golf at this city-owned green space.
The event kicks off at 8 a.m. and will include hikes along the trails with subject matter experts until 10:30 a.m., the city said in a news release.
Bobby Jones Day is the culmination of the work of local neighborhood groups and Conserve Bobby Jones Now, the city said.

Other local environmental organizations that have partnered at the property include Sarasota Audubon Society, the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast, START (Solutions to Avoid Red Tide), Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, Friends of the Legacy Trail, Sierra Club (Manatee Sarasota Group), University of Florida IFAS Extension, Environmental Caucus of Sarasota County Democrats, The Active Suncoast Foundation, and Science & Environment Council.

- Bird walk with the Sarasota Audubon Society: 8 a.m.
- Opening remarks: 8:45 a.m.
- Wetlands talk with START: 8:50 to 9:10 a.m.
- Hike the trails, chat with experts: 8:50 to 10:30 a.m.
Guests are encouraged to wear a hate, walking shoes, and sunscreen, and bring water. There are no public restrooms on site.
