Did You Know That National Feral Cat Day is Oct. 16?
Alley Cat Allies created National Feral Cat Day® a decade ago to promote humane care for feral cats.
Alley Cat Allies created National Feral Cat Day a decade ago to promote humane care for feral cats. Their efforts to share information and educate others on the importance of Trap-Neuter-Return have been supported year after year by caring individuals and groups — in tiny towns, in big cities, and in places in between like Sarasota!
In recognition of National Feral Cat Day, Cat Depot will hold an adoption event on Oct. 20 and 21. Adopt a cat or kitten and receive one year of free nail trims for your newly adopted cat, and a grab bag gift (value up to $100).
Local author Diana Malone will be at Cat Depot for her Blackcat book signing both days from noon to 4 p.m. Blackcat is the autobiography of a feral cat and true story. This kitty autobiography was written partly to chronicle the life of a little homeless cat who was lucky enough to become a special member of a human family, but also to carry some important messages that need to reach pet lovers everywhere.
