No Signs Of Foul Play In Child's Death Investigation: Sarasota Police
The Medical Examiner's Office is working to determine the cause of death of a child found unresponsive on Dixie Avenue, police said.
SARASOTA, FL — Preliminary information from the District 12 Medical Examiner’s Office indicates there are no signs of foul play in the Monday morning death of a child, Sarasota police said in a news release.
The cause and manner of the death are pending the results of the medical examiner’s testing, “which may take time to complete,” police said. No timetable for the medical examiner’s testing results was provided.
A call about an unresponsive child in the 2800 block of Dixie Avenue came into Sarasota County dispatch on Monday around 8 a.m.

Officers and EMS paramedics worked to revive the child until they were transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where they later died.
The age and gender of the child, as well as the circumstances of their death, haven’t been released.

Detectives remain in close contact with the medical examiner as they continue to investigate the death.
