Bradenton Man Charged In Death Of 3-Month-Old Baby In Sarasota
A 26-year-old Bradenton man has been charged after the medical examiner's report showed a 3-month-old baby was abused.

SARASOTA, FL ā A 26-year-old Bradenton man has been charged with aggravated manslaughter of child after the medical examiner's report showed a 3-month-old Sarasota baby died as a result of an assault.
Uvo-Kk Ayoma Uvo was arrested by Sarasota Police Tuesday, April 24, for the December death of the baby after the medical examiner released a final report on the infantās death on April 19.
On Dec. 27 at about 2:45 p.m., 911 dispatch received a call from the area of Lockwood Ridge and 17th Street in Sarasota.

The child's mother told dispatchers her 3-month-old son was not breathing and was unresponsive.
Sarasota Police officers and paramedics arrived and the baby was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

The child's mother told detectives she was driven to a nail salon by her boyfriend, Uvo-Kk Ayoma Uvo. The 3-month old child was also in the car. When
the child's mother called Uvo-Kk Ayoma Uvo to pick her up, he arrived with the child in the car. The mother said the child was lifeless and felt slightly
cold to the touch. When the child's mother called 911, Uvo-Kk Ayoma Uvo fled from the scene on foot because he had three warrants for his arrest out of Lee County.
The baby was flown to All Children's Hospital by Bayflight for further treatment. Doctors at All Children's Hospital told Sarasota Police detectives they suspected the child had been abused.
On Dec. 28, Uvo spoke with detectives and was initially and was charged with aggravated child abuse and child neglect because of the injuries inflicted to the child while in his care. The baby died on Dec. 29.
Uvo is being held at Sarasota County Jail.
