Moms For Liberty Co-Founder Ziegler Denies Threesome Planned: Report
In a rape investigation, Christian Ziegler claimed the couple had a threesome planned with his accuser. Bridget Ziegler disputed the claim.

SARASOTA, FL — Sarasota County Schools board member Bridget Ziegler has denied her husband’s claims of a planned threesome with the woman who accused him of rape, according to a new report from the Florida Center for Government Accountability.
The couple previously had a three-way sexual encounter with the woman, who accused Christian Ziegler, the former state Republican Party chairman, of rape and sexual battery in an Oct. 2 incident.
The victim told investigators she initially agreed to have Christian Ziegler at her home the day of the incident because she thought his wife would join them, according to a search warrant previously shared by FCGA.

The victim said Christian Ziegler came to her house anyway, entered her home and had sex with her without a condom. The woman later told a relative she was raped.
Christian Ziegler has maintained his innocence and said their sexual encounter that day was consensual.
Following a months-long investigation into the claims, the Sarasota Police Department said that it won’t charge rape or sexual battery charges against him.
The agency has suggested a video voyeurism charge against Ziegler and sent a probable cause affidavit for the felony to the state attorney’s office to consider.
Ziegler recorded the sexual encounter on his phone. Detectives recovered the video during their investigation.
The victim told police that she was unaware that she was being recorded and didn’t consent to the recording, leading to the video voyeurism charge, SPD said.
Bridget Ziegler, a Moms for Liberty co-founder, contradicted her husband’s claims that a threesome was planned with his victim for Oct. 2, the day the sexual assault was alleged to have happened, in a Nov. 1 interview with detectives, according to a police report obtained by FCGA.
“Bridget confirmed that she had participated in a threesome with [the woman] and her husband once two years ago which would have been arranged by Christian,” Sarasota police Det. Maria Llovio wrote in the report. ”Bridget said there has not been any talk about another threesome.”
She also told police that she didn’t think her husband would make up the claim to “set up a date.”
Bridget also told the detective that the “sexual assault allegation surprises her, but not the extra marital activity,” according to FCGA.
The Sarasota County School Board voted 4 to 1 in December in favor of a resolution calling for the resignation of Bridget Ziegler, according to multiple reports. Ziegler cast the sole vote against her departure.
The school board can’t oust Ziegler from her position, but the it was a bipartisan vote against Ziegler, a conservative voice on the board. The board chair, Karen Rose, said her resignation would allow the district to focus on student achievement, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.
