National Day of Prayer Event Program - Gateway Park in Waterside Place at Lakewood Ranch

David Hunihan, CEO of Lee Wetherington Homes, will be leading a National Day of Prayer event program at Gateway Park in Waterside Place at Lakewood Ranch, on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.

Presented by CityCommit and Lee Wetherington Homes, the public is encouraged to bring their own chairs and towels and join the two organizations as they come together with the community in prayer.

The one-hour event program will be as follows:

●Opening song led by worship team - Dawson Cowals

●Welcome led by David Hunihan of Lee Wetherington Homes

●Call to pray led by David Hunihan of Lee Wetherington Homes

●Family prayer led by Justin Reynolds of Castle Rock Benefits

●Song led by worship team - Dawson Cowals

●Youth and education prayer led by Isaiah Miller of Robbins Residential

●Military, law enforcement and first responder prayer led by Major Todd Shear

●Business prayer led by Jon Mast of Suncoast Builders Association

●Song led by worship team - Dawson Cowals

●Arts, entertainment and media prayer led by Allison Imre of Grapevine Communications

●Government prayer led by Teresa Mast, District 1 (Pro Tem)

●Church and unity prayer led by Pastor Chad Spencer of Legacy Church

●Closing song led by worship team - Dawson Cowals

●Benediction led by Pastor Chad Spencer of Legacy Church

The event is free and open to the public.
