Nilson Matta’s Brazilian Voyage is a celebration of Brazil’s rich musical heritage, led by internationally renowned bassist, composer, and bandleader Nilson Matta. He has spent his career redefining the role of the bass in Brazilian jazz. Brazilian Voyage is an all-star ensemble that draws from a deep well of musical influences—samba, bossa nova, choro, baião, and MPB (música popular brasileira)—all reimagined through the lens of contemporary jazz. The group’s repertoire features both timeless Brazilian standards and compelling original compositions. Doors to the Venue@LEC open 6:00 pm for small plate options and bar service.
